Initial Appearance and Transformation:
Initially, Cor-Ten and S355JOWP resemble ordinary gray steel. However, exposure to the elements transforms them to a deep, reddish-brown, enhancing their protective patina. This natural barrier is akin to rust but is beneficial, thickening when wet and safeguarding against further corrosion.

Unpacking and Preparing Your Product:
Upon arrival, promptly unpack to prevent moisture buildup and uneven rusting. The products are pre-treated for rust formation.

Patina Development - Two Approaches:

• Natural Process: Leave your product outdoors. Rain and moisture will naturally initiate patination. The initial change appears in 1-3 weeks, with full development in 3-5 months. Accelerate this by periodically wetting the surface.
• Accelerated Method: (Note: Proceed at your own risk) Apply a diluted salt solution (1 teaspoon per liter of warm water) 5-6 times. After each application, the product should be exposed to natural elements for rinsing.

Staining and Care:
In the first year, rust may transfer to nearby surfaces. To prevent this, elevate the product using bolt heads, creating an air gap and preserving both the product and the surface beneath. For indoor use or to slow rusting, consider Owatrol 732SK rust oil.
